LONG INVOLVEMENT WITH THE RINGWOOD AND BURLEY BAND

During a recent rehearsal evening the Ringwood and Burley Band made a presentation to John Tamplin a member of the trombone section, John Tamplin is retiring after being a playing member of the band for forty seven years.

John served as a musician in the Royal Air Force and was a member of the Far East Band based in Singapore, on his return to the United Kingdom he joined the Western Band of the Royal Air Force, after leaving the service and later moving to the Ringwood area he joined the Ringwood and Burley Band in the early 1970s.

As well as being a playing member of the band John served on the committee and other offices during his years with the band.

John was presented with a cut glass engraved bowl by the band Chairman Tony Mist who thanked him on behalf of the band for his many years of membership and involvement with the band during this long period and offered him best wishes for the future.
