Ringwood and Burley Brass Band are very pleased to announce their new musical director, Harry Bassett

Harry is a locally based musician, composer and facilitator. He comes to Ringwood and Burley with a wealth of brass banding experience. From sitting in with Ferndown Concert Brass at aged 10, he continues to support a number of bands in the area, both as a player and facilitator.

In his time as a trumpet player, Harry has played at a range of events and venues around the U.K and abroad – Some of which include: Glastonbury and Brighton Festivals, Westminster Abbey and The 100 Club, Oxford Street. He has supported a number of well known artists such as: Jona Lewie, Doreen Shaffer & The Skatalites, The Dualers and Groove Armada.

Since 2019, Harry has worked as musical director and composer for Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists, where he crafts original scores for touring shows, coaches cast members and delivers creative residencies. This work has led him to work on a number of other community projects and to study for a brief time at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance.

Harry is ‘delighted to have to have formed this new partnership with Ringwood & Burley’ and is ‘excited to support and guide the band in its next chapter.’
